The journey begins from the vibrant lakeside city of Pokhara, leading trekkers through charming villages, terraced farmlands, and lush forests filled with rhododendron and oak trees. The well-maintained trails and comfortable teahouse accommodations make the trek safe, enjoyable, and accessible without requiring any technical trekking skills.

Along the way, trekkers are welcomed by the warm hospitality of the Gurung and Magar communities, offering a glimpse into traditional Himalayan lifestyles, local cuisine, and cultural traditions.

🌄 The Highlight: Sunrise from Poon Hill

The true highlight of the trek is the early morning hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m), one of Nepal’s most famous viewpoints. As the sun rises, the sky transforms into shades of gold and orange, illuminating the snow-capped peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

From the top, trekkers can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of iconic mountains, including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machapuchare (Fishtail), Dhaulagiri, and Nilgiri. This magical sunrise moment is often considered one of the best photographic experiences in the Himalayas.

🏞️ Scenic Villages & Cultural Experience

After the sunrise, the trail continues through beautiful forest paths and scenic ridgelines towards Tadapani, eventually descending to the picturesque village of Ghandruk. Known for its traditional stone houses and stunning mountain backdrop, Ghandruk is one of the largest Gurung villages in the region.

Here, trekkers can explore local museums, interact with villagers, and gain deeper insight into the unique mountain culture before returning to Pokhara.
