Description

The Everest Base Camp Trek (also known as the EBC Trek in Nepal / Trek al Campo Base del Everest) is one of the most iconic and popular trekking journeys in the world, offering far more than just breathtaking Himalayan scenery. This legendary Everest trekking route takes you through the heart of the Khumbu region, where you will witness some of the highest mountains on Earth, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu.

While trekking to Everest Base Camp, you will also explore the incredible biodiversity of Sagarmatha National Park (Parque Nacional de Sagarmatha), a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its unique plant species and rare wildlife such as snow leopards and red pandas.

In addition to its stunning landscapes, the Everest Base Camp Trek allows you to experience the rich Sherpa culture of Nepal. You will discover their traditional lifestyle, spiritual beliefs, Buddhist practices, and centuries-old Himalayan heritage. The well-maintained EBC trekking trail provides comfortable teahouse lodges and dining facilities, making this trek both adventurous and convenient for travelers from around the world.

Reaching Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters (17,598 feet) is an achievable goal for people with reasonable fitness. The total Everest Base Camp Trek distance is approximately 130 km (80 miles) round trip, starting and ending in Lukla. Compared to climbing Mount Everest itself, the Everest Base Camp hiking tour is much more accessible and suitable for trekkers of different experience levels, including beginners and adventure lovers.

Beyond the main EBC trail, the Everest region is filled with hidden Himalayan treasures such as the Imja Glacier, Hinku Valley, and ancient monasteries like Pangboche and Thame. These landmarks enhance the cultural and natural beauty of the Everest trekking experience. The high-altitude adaptation of the Sherpa people and the ancient trade routes they once used add historical value to this unforgettable journey.

This 15-day Everest Base Camp Trek package (Paquete de 15 días al Campo Base del Everest) includes full-board service — meals and accommodation during the trek — along with bed and breakfast in a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu. You will be guided by a professional English-speaking trekking guide, and a complimentary Everest Base Camp trekking map is also provided.

You can customize this Everest trekking package according to your budget, schedule, and group size, with 100% guaranteed departure on your selected trekking date. We also offer special group discounts and private Everest Base Camp tour options.

Your journey begins with a scenic 30–35-minute mountain flight from Kathmandu or Ramechhap to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. From Lukla, your unforgettable hike to Everest Base Camp begins. For trekkers looking for a longer or more challenging adventure, alternative options such as the Everest Three High Passes Trek (19 days) and the EBC via Gokyo Lakes and Cho La Pass Trek (18 days) are also available.

Altitude Sickness Prevention is a key part of our Everest trekking safety plan. We strictly follow the principle, “Climb High, Sleep Low.” Two acclimatization days are built into the itinerary in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche. During these days, short hikes are made to higher elevations before returning to sleep at lower altitudes, allowing your body to properly adapt to high altitude conditions and reducing the risk of altitude sickness.

According to the Sagarmatha National Park Office, around 35,000 trekkers visit the Everest region of Nepal each year (before COVID), making it one of the most visited trekking adventures in the world.

Important Safety Note:
At Amigo Treks & Expedition, your safety during the Everest Base Camp Trek is our top priority. While we always aim to follow the planned itinerary, mountain weather in Nepal can be unpredictable and may cause flight delays or cancellations. We recommend keeping extra buffer days in your travel schedule for safety.

Our experienced trek leaders and mountain guides are trained in high-altitude conditions, safety procedures, and emergency response. In case of major disruptions, helicopter services can be arranged at an additional cost, as helicopters are able to operate in more challenging weather conditions than small planes.
