Overview

A journey through the Himalayas

The Annapurna Circuit is one of the classic long treks of the world. It circles the Annapurna massif from green river gorges to the dry, Tibetan-style villages of Manang, then crosses the Thorong La at 5,416 m and descends to the sacred temple of Muktinath.

You start in the Marsyangdi valley among pine forest and waterfalls, then climb past Chame and Pisang to Manang, where you rest and acclimatise. After Yak Kharka and Thorong High Camp you cross the pass at dawn and walk down into Mustang, finishing with a short mountain flight from Jomsom to Pokhara.

It suits fit trekkers who are comfortable walking 6–8 hours, with a very long pass day. Previous trekking experience helps but is not essential. Because the Manang side lies in a rain shadow, this route also works in June and early September.

Why book with us: careful acclimatisation in Manang, guides who cross the Thorong La every season, and a flexible extra day for weather.

Difficulty & fitness Challenging

Long days and high passes. Some previous hiking experience recommended.
