The Manaslu region is in central Nepal, between Langtang and Annapurna. The trail follows the Budhi Gandaki gorge from Gurung villages up to Tibetan-style Samagaun under Manaslu (8,163 m). You reach the start by jeep from Kathmandu.
Go in Mar–May or Sep–Nov. The high point is the Larkya La pass at 5,106 m, so the route includes acclimatisation days in Samagaun.
It suits fit trekkers who want fewer crowds than Everest or Annapurna. Manaslu is a restricted area: you need a special permit, a licensed guide and at least two trekkers. Treks here: Manaslu Circuit Trek.
