Overview

A journey through the Himalayas

The Langtang Valley trek packs high mountains, glaciers and living Tamang culture into just 10 days, with no domestic flight. It is often called the valley of glaciers, and from Kyanjin Ri you look straight onto Langtang Lirung (7,227 m).

After a day's drive to Syabrubesi, the trail follows the Langtang river through forest where red pandas and langur monkeys live, then climbs into a wide U-shaped valley of yak pastures and stone villages. The rebuilt village of Langtang, destroyed in the 2015 earthquake, is a moving stop. Kyanjin Gompa has a monastery and a small cheese factory.

It suits first-time trekkers looking for real altitude, and anyone who wants a quieter trail than Everest or Annapurna. Days are 5–7 hours.

Why book with us: local Tamang guides, family-run teahouses and the option to add Gosaikunda lakes.

Difficulty & fitness Moderate

5 to 7 hours a day with some steep sections. Suits active beginners.
